According to the report gathered by Nairablink News a few days ago, the report of a clergyman who reportedly called the attention of media to Epe General Hospital where his wife was killed over #29,000.
After the incident, the article written by the husband of the late Miss Oluremi Esan went viral on the internet until it gets to the Punch Newspaper for general publication which brought the attention of Hon. Wale Raji.
The Legislator representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Services Committee, Hon Wale Raji today paid a condolence visit to the family of Late Miss Oluremi Esan, a teacher at Epe Senior Grammar School who recently died during childbirth at Epe General Hospital.
Hon Wale Raji who was represented by a delegation led by the APC Chairman in Eredo LCDA, Mr. Mahmoud Agbaraojo, and Mrs. Dolapo Oladunjoye condoled the family and urged them to take good care of the baby she left behind.
The visitation was not empty-handed, baby sanitary materials, baby formula, drugs, and other daily needs of the baby were presented by the delegation to the husband of the deceased.
After the presentation of the gifts, the husband of the deceased, Mr. Ayobami Taiwo who received the delegation, thanked Hon Wale Raji and his team for visiting the family at the hospital and still deemed it fit to follow up with a condolence visit and presentation of the items meant for the baby’s welfare.
The widower was able to express his feelings and he said he didn’t expect such departure from his wife and the newborn baby was left without a day breastfeed from the mother. (With tears)
Mr Ayobami, however, expressed his displeasure at the poor treatment meted out to his wife and attitude of workers at the hospital which he allegedly attributed to the death of his wife.
He said the nonchalant attitude must stop. He urged the state government to ensure a thorough investigation is conducted into the matter and also get the culprits sanctioned to serve as a deterrent to others and also help in averting a repeat of such incidence going forward.
The man was left with four children including the newborn baby.
It will be of great help most especially in this hard time if more people can come to his aid in times of food, finance, and moral support so as to let go of the shock.
While people of Epe complaining and clamoring on this issue that the government is turning deaf towards the incident, Mr. Ayobami said he was making the publication so as to put stop into the act and if care is not taken, it could be you tomorrow.
That’s why I asked anybody that sees the article to share until it gets to the right authority.
Justice must be done and someone somewhere must be taken as a scapegoat. I have no thought of what to tell my children when they ask me about their mother. He said.
Meanwhile, Hon. Wale Raji allayed the fears of the family and the general public on the matter as he said he is aware that the matter has been brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities in the state and investigation has commenced.
He urged all parties to remain calm until the investigation is concluded and the necessary actions taken by the government.
