No fewer than 30,000 Nigerian youths qualified for the fifth edition of the 2020 Big Brother Naija, #BBNaija.

The organizers, MultiChoice Nigeria, made the disclosure today Saturday 4th of July 2020

They were, however, silent on the amount of housemates which will enter the BBNaija house this year.

Currently, those that made the ultimate cut are in quarantine to make sure they’re not exposed to Covid-19 infection.

The Season 4 edition in 2019 featured a complete of 26 participants with the following names:

Mercy, Mike, Frodd, Omashola, Seyi, Diane, Ike, Elozonam, Cindy, Tacha, Khafi, Venita, Sir Dee, Esther, Gedoni, Jackye, Joe, Enkay, Jeff, Nelson, Thelma, Tuoyo, Kim Oprah, Ella, Avala and Isilomo.

Chief Custom Officer, Martin Mabutho, revealed that the BBNaija prize this year are going to be “the highest ever in the history of the annual show”.

However, she didn’t let the cat out of the bag about the theme of the Season 5 edition nor gave a hint about the amount of the prize money but promised that it will be an improvement on the previous edition.

Last year, the winner Mercy Eke, went home with N30 million as prize .

Martin added that BBNaija will still provide “quality entertainment and value for the audience while exporting Nigerian culture to the world”.

Besides doing things like ensuring the production crew works in (socially distanced) shifts, MultiChoice is putting the potential housemates through a rigorous health screening process.

Season 5 of Nigeria’s favourite reality show, Big Brother Naija will be going live on Sunday, July 19, 2020. Big Brother Naija is an audience favourite.
