LETTER OF APPRECIATION
I wish to formally acknowledge and appreciate the unflinching support you gave me before, during and after the just concluded senatorial bye-elections in Lagos East on December 5, 2020. As you are aware, your support helped in securing an overwhelming victory for my party, APC and I in the bye-elections.
When we started our electioneering campaigns three months ago, we travelled across the senatorial district, communicating our plans and programmes to the people; canvassing their support across all the socio-political strata and assuring them of quality representation.
As a fellow patriot who desires accountable and transparent governance structures nationwide, you shared and supported our mission to redefine legislative governance and offer people-focused representation to the people of Lagos East with passion and commitment. As a result, you threw your weight behind us, supporting our cause materially, morally, physically and strategically, especially at the time the entire process snowballed into the turbulence of the #EndSARS controversies.
With the unwavering support we received during our electioneering, we successfully prosecuted our senatorial bye-election campaign in a convincing manner. This effort has evidently not been in vain given the outcome of the bye-election in which we polled 87.19% of the total votes, leaving the first runner-up with a paltry share of 11%. This feat is remarkable, and we could not have attained it without your overwhelming support.
Now that the bye-elections have been concluded, we are now confronted with the task of of fulfilling all electoral promises. Let me assure you again that we are committed to every promise we have made. By God’s grace, we will work harder and not renege our contract with our people, who willingly and overwhelmingly gave us their mandate.
At this stage, we count on your continued support to truly offer our constituents the best legislative representation comparable to advanced democracies. We shall continue to seek your advice and support in order to offer our constituents people-centred and purpose-driven representation they have been yearning for.
Thank you and God bless.
Mr. Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru, FCA.
Senator-Elect, Lagos East,
Federal Republic of Nigeria.
